Regardless of the nature, size and development stage of your company, it is important to invest in building and maintaining a strong brand. Keeping a strong sustainable brand image means continuously connecting with and embracing the views and experiences of yours customers and other stakeholders at large. This interaction is at the epicentre of the re-branding process.

This is an initiative of UCLan Cyprus MBA Programme supported by CEDAR, our Centre of Entrepreneurship, which aims to help you:
• build a strong brand and successfully pull a rebrand off;
• approach branding and re-branding as a co-creation and design thinking process;
• get immersed on branding and re-branding challenges;
• become an expert at re-branding strategies and experimentations;
• understand social, business and sustainability implications of re-branding.

The workshop will culminate in an interactive workshop under the guidance of Dr. Betty Tsakarestou and the industry expertise of Mr. Rallis Makrides, Client Service Director of ORB Marketing and Communications Boutique, offering hands on activities around challenges involved in the branding and re-branding of emblematic products and ventures, while also considering failures.

Biography
Dr. Betty Tsakarestou is Assistant Professor and Head of Advertising and Public Relations Lab at the Department of Communication, Media and Culture of Panteion University. She is a Branding Officer & European Liaison for International Communication Division at The Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC). She is also a co-initiator of Connecting Cities. Betty’s work is focusing on strategic branding and PRs, mobile, sharing economy and collaborative consumption, entrepreneurial Journalism and media innovation, corporate social responsibility, social innovation ventures, branding, social media and digital innovation.

She has gained wide international academic experience at CUNY Graduate School of Journalism and Tow-Knight Centre for Entrepreneurial Journalism, Copenhagen Business School, Warsaw School of Economics and the University of Cyprus. In May 2016 she organized the first Start-up Weekend on “Entrepreneurial Journalism” in Athens with the support of U.S. Embassy. She is an editor of a book series on “Digital Culture” with Pedion Publishing.
