The Centre for Entrepreneurial Development, Alliance and Research (CEDAR) proudly announces that will implement the project titled “Consultation between Youth and Policy-Makers”. The project is funded by Erasmus+ and has a duration of 24 months. The project started on the 1st of January 2023 and will be concluded on the 31st of December 2024.
The project was designed with the aim of organizing 14 structured dialogue activities, i.e. activities that will bring together young people and decision-makers to discuss policy-making that concerns them. In relation to the EU Youth Strategy, out of the 11 European objectives it includes, the proposed program tackles objective number 4: “Information & Constructive Dialogue”. The main target group of the program is young people aged 18-24, i.e. young adults. Many young people of this age group did not have the opportunity to vote in the last presidential elections, while fewer did not even have the opportunity to vote in the last parliamentary elections. Because of this circumstance, namely the inability to vote due to age, many of these young people are distanced from democratic life. As a result, they are the ones whose their voice should be heard during the discussions with policy-makers. Therefore, the aim of the project is to organise and implement 14 events where policy-makers will have the chance to develop a constructive dialogue with youth to discuss issues in society and ways to overcome several barriers.
The project is coordinated by Dr Fanos Tekelas, Professor Loukas Glyptis and Mrs Stella Komodromou while additional young members of the Centre are involved in the implementation of the project.
