The Centre for Entrepreneurial Development, Alliance and Research (CEDAR) proudly announces that will implement the project titled “Fostering Youth Awareness of Equality and Human Rights-FAIRYouth”. The project is funded by Erasmus+ and has a duration of 24 months. The project started on the 1st of January 2025 and will be concluded on the 31st of December 2026.
The project was designed with the aim of organizing 12 structured dialogue activities, i.e. activities that will bring together young people and members of the society to discuss matters and incidents of inequality and human rights violations. In relation to the EU Youth Strategy, out of the 11 European objectives it includes, the proposed program tackles objective number 4: “Information & Constructive Dialogue”. The main target group of the program is young people aged 13-30, i.e. young adults. The idea behind developing the proposed project arose from the desire of the young people with whom CEDAR works or is engaged with and who identified a need for training on equality and human right issues. CEDAR recognises how important it is that youth is equipped with democratic values to be politically aware and active citizens. This prompted CEDAR to start a dialogue with young people with the aim of exchanging views on what is happening with regards to the challenges and perspectives for a more transparent and open to youth participation in equality and human rights issues. The aim of the proposed program is to confront youth with a critical review of incidents on inequality and human rights violation that place in the EU, and in Cyprus, with a view to fostering critical thinking and capacity to determine their antecedents, predict their consequences, and think about the possible solutions as well as the good practices that can be mobilised to address or prevent them.
